Mary J. Blige is on a roll. The “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” announced her first Las Vegas residency on Monday, Jan. 12, a week after Lifetime unveiled a new production partnership with the Grammy and Emmy winner.
The chart-topping singer will kick off the 10-night “Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story The Las Vegas Residency” at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Friday, May 1, 2026.
“I’ve been so excited to announce this Vegas residency,” she said in a press release. “Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over – different cities, states, and countries – to experience something together.”
The singer offered more details during a Monday appearance on the Today show. She said the residency will tell a story and feature actors.
“It’s going to be done more theatrical,” she said. “It’s still going to have the music, it’s still going to be fun — but it’s a story so there’s going to be actors and actresses. So the music tells the story. I have so many songs I haven’t performed yet for my fans… The actors are going to narrate the music.”
Right now, the residency is scheduled to run for two months. The dates are May 1, 2, 6, 8, and 9, as well as July 10, 11, 15, 17, 18. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. PT.
Citi/AAdvantage is the official presale credit card for the residency and cardholders will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning Tuesday, Jan. 13.
News about the residency came just six days after Lifetime extended its production partnership with Blige. On Jan. 6, the network announced she’s signed on to produce three original movies under her Blue Butterfly Productions banner.
The first project is titled Mary J. Blige Presents: Be Happy, based on her 1994 hit song by the same name. The movie will be co-produced by Mona Scott-Young and stars Tisha Campbell, Mekhi Phifer, and Russell Hornsby.
Blige previously produced three films for the cable network based on her music. The movies were titled Mary J Blige’s Real Love (2023), Mary J Blige’s Strength of a Woman (2023), and Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair (2025).
