Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell revealed new details on Tuesday about the investigation into the weekend shooting outside Rihanna’s mansion.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was arrested shortly after the shooting and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.

During a news conference this morning on a separate case, McDonnell said investigators are “looking into” social media posts Ortiz made about Rihanna and other celebrities.

In one YouTube video, Ortiz claimed the “Umbrella” singer was trying to take her life.

“She looks really stupid and corny and everyone knows it,” she said about the singer. “The way that Rihanna wants to kill me, she’s the one who wants to kill me.”

A Facebook page believed to be Ortiz’s says she lives in Orlando, Florida. The LAPD chief was asked when and how she arrived in Los Angeles.

“My understanding is the person drove here from Florida. How long they’ve been in the area … I don’t have that information,” he said. “[Investigators] are working on that. That would be part of the whole motive, why the person came out here. We haven’t established a motive.”

Rihanna lives at the mansion with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three young children.

Local news outlets reported the singer was home on Sunday, March 8, when a suspect opened fire on the gate surrounding the property in L.A.’s Beverly Crest neighborhood. No one was injured.

Ortiz is being held on $10.225 million bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s inmate information website. She is currently awaiting her first court date.

McDonnell said 10 people were inside the house when gunfire erupted, although he declined to name the people in the home.

Reporters asked why the bail amount was so high.

“The bail is as high as it is because of the number of victims. There were a total of 10 people present when that shooting occurred, and all would be considered victims,” he said. “Then there’s an enhancement for using the weapon.”

The LAPD previously said the shooter used an AR-15 type rifle in the shooting.

TMZ published the dispatch call from Sunday, and a dispatcher could be heard saying “approximately ten shots” were heard. Two more dispatchers joined the call and said the shots came from a Tesla Model 3.

An LAPD helicopter followed the Tesla and Ortiz was arrested at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, about 25 minutes away.

According to the website Arrests.org, Ortiz had three previous arrests in Florida, including one for battery domestic violence.
