Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger is a free woman after serving six months of a one-year sentence for driving under the influence.

Videos posted to social media on Tuesday, Sept. 2, showed the reality star leaving a Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DOCR) facility in Maryland.

Huger, 62, waved to reporters camped outside the prison as she was driven away in a black SUV.

A spokesperson for the detention center confirmed Huger headed home, telling Page Six: “She has been released.”

The television star, know to fans as the “Grande Dame,” was arrested in March 2024 after crashing her Maserati into a pole.

A police body camera recorded her slurring her words struggling to walk as paramedics made sure she wasn’t seriously injured.  When an officer told her he was recording, she demanded he turn off the camera.

She told the officer, “Can you leave me alone? Don’t touch me.” But ultimately she was placed in a squad car and taken to jail.

Huger opted to go to trial and a jury found her guilty on five out of six charges, including driving under the influence, and negligent driving. She was acquitted of reckless driving.

On Feb. 26, 2025, A Maryland judge sentenced her to two years in jail with one year suspended.

It’s unclear if she will appear on the upcoming 10th season of RHOP. Although people on social media reported a Bravo camera crew was outside the prison on Tuesday.

The network just released the trailer for the new season of the series last week and she was not listed among the cast.

The new season will feature the return of Monique Samuels who famously left the show after a season 5 altercation with former co-star Candiace Dillard Bassett.

Samuels joins Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch, and Keiarna Stewart. New housewives Tia Glover and Angel Massie are also joining the show, and Jassi Rideaux is returning as a friend to the cast.

Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Potomac debuts on Oct. 5.
