Former Vice President Kamala Harris received a rock star reception Monday night in Los Angeles.
Harris appeared before a sold-out crowd at the Wiltern Theater for a conversation about her newly released memoir 107 Days, detailing her abbreviated campaign in the 2024 race.
The Wiltern normally hosts stage shows and music acts, but on Sept. 29, Harris was the marquee draw.

The Democratic presidential nominee offered an upbeat message to supporters disheartened by the chaos unfolding in Washington — including thousands of federal employees losing their jobs, rollbacks of diversity initiatives, and a government shutdown.
“I hope that we remember the optimism we felt during those 107 days,” Harris told the audience. “Our spirit cannot be defeated.”
While the Democrat said she warned of the things currently happening if the nation re-elected then-former President Donald Trump, she admitted she is surprised that so many politicians, universities, and media companies are bowing to Trump.
“I predicted almost everything that has happened,” Harris said to laughter. “But in all seriousness, what I did not predict was the capitulation — universities, law firms, media corporations, be they television or newspapers.”
Harris admitted she was heartbroken when she lost the election to the Republican nominee.
“I haven’t felt anything as remotely similar since my mother died,” she said. “I was grieving for my country.”
107 Days, released on Sept. 23, details “one of the wildest and most consequential presidential campaigns in American history,” according to the official description.
The tell-all book reveals her Secret Service code name is “Pioneer,” takes shots at an aging former President Joe Biden, and describes what it was like to be the first woman vice president of the United States.
“On July 21, 2024, your running mate, Joe Biden, announces that he will not be seeking reelection. The presidential election will occur on November 5, 2024. You have 107 days,” the book’s description says.
Harris has faced criticism for some of the details in the book. But when asked if they cared about what critics are saying, the L.A. audience shouted, “No!”
Still, a opinion column in The New York Times said the memoir “reads like a book of excuses.”
The Hill claimed the memoir “has somehow managed to put the Democratic Party in a worse spot than it once was.”
Although Don Lemon said Monday on his YouTube show Harris is exposing “the truth.” He told his viewers about the book, “I couldn’t put it down.”
As she travels the country for her book tour, Harris said she continues to hear from Americans from all walks of life who are “on edge.”
“Journalists are really scared right now,” she told L.A. audience.
Harris said some of the people who voted for Trump were ultimately duped.
“One of the reasons that a lot of people who voted for him, did vote for him is because he promised on day one he was going to bring down prices and he lied,” she stated. “So, today we’re at a place where the cost of groceries is up, inflation is up, unemployment is up. Meanwhile, he lines his own pockets with what is estimated to be billions of dollars.”
The former veep also accused Trump of bullying the media because he “is trying to keep the truth from the American people. This is a time to rise up. We cannot normalize this.”
The Wiltern has a theater seating capacity of 1,875 people, according to its website. Before the event started, ticket holders were lined up down the street.
Inside, the audience applauded loudly when Harris criticized Trump, calling him “unbalanced” and “unhinged.”
“He has a fragile ego — and he is the president of the United States. We cannot get used to it,” Harris warned.
