There will be no third season for The Vince Staples Show.

Netflix canceled the satirical comedy series, with the news first reported this afternoon by Deadline.

Inspired by the life of Long Beach rapper Vince Staples, the series premiered in February 2024.

Staples led the cast and was joined by Vanessa Bell Calloway, Andrea Ellsworth and Naté Jones.

Guest stars included Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, and Myles Bullock.

Staples developed a loyal following with the release of his platinum-selling single “Norf Norf,” off his debut studio album Summertime ’06 (2015).

When the first season of his Netflix show ended after only five episodes, fans expressed frustration on social media and asked for additional episodes.

Staples replied to a post on X right after the premiere, and encouraged viewers to give the series a thumbs up on the platform — in hopes of getting a renewal.

“Netflix didn’t buy anymore episodes, so make sure you hit that double thumbs up. Peer pressure works and I’m tryna re up,” Staples posted on Feb. 16, 2024.

The fan-driven campaign worked and Netflix ordered a second season, with the announcement coming in May 2024.

While the show had a devoted fanbase, there weren’t enough of those fans to keep the show going.

Yesterday Netflix released its “What We Watched the Second Half of 2025” report.  Staples’ show came in at No. 1,446 with 1.4 million views.

In comparison, Wednesday: Season 2 took the top spot with 123.9 million views. It was followed by Stranger Things 5 with 93.5 million views after just five weeks of release.

Season 2 The Vince Staples Show premiered on Nov. 6, 2025. The six-episode second season picked up with Vince embarking on a wild journey in search of inner peace in the wake of a tragic death.

“We’re utilizing a lot of the stress and anxiety that you felt Vince deal with in season 1,” Staples told Entertainment Weekly about the second season.

The rapper, songwriter and actor co-created the show with Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams, with all three serving as executive producers.

Kenya Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society produced the series. Barris additionally executive produced alongside Corey Smyth, and William Stefan Smith.
