Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today anchor desk for the first time on Monday morning after a lengthy absence following the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Savannah did not address her absence at the top of the show as she sat alongside co-anchor Craig Melvin.

Instead, she shared a simple message and got right into reading the news. “It is good to be home,” she said. “Here we go. Ready or not, let’s do the news.”

The longtime news anchor wore a yellow lace dress and Melvin coordinated with a dark colored suit and yellow tie. “So good to have you home,” he said.

Last month Guthrie sat down for a tearful interview with fill-in anchor Hoda Kotb, and discussed the search for her missing mother. She said family members initially thought Nancy, who has heart problems, had been taken to a hospital.

“We thought that she must have had some kind of medical episode in the night and that somehow the paramedics had come because the back doors were propped open,” Savannah said.

Her April 6 Today return came two months after her mother was reported missing on Feb. 1. The 84 year old was last seen being dropped off at her home in Tucson, Arizona after a family dinner on Jan. 31. She did not show up for a church gathering the next morning.

Savannah quickly flew to Arizona as she and her siblings waited for news. Officials said a masked man, who was recorded tampering with the doorbell camera outside Nancy Guthrie’s house, kidnapped the mother-of-three in the early morning hours on Feb. 1. The man was described as “approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said family members were not suspects in the case.

“To be clear … the Guthrie family — to include all siblings and spouses — has been cleared as possible suspects,” Nanos said in a statement on Feb. 16. “The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case.”

The FBI has been assisting in the case. In February, the federal government doubled a reward being offered to $100,000 for “information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

Savannah also offered a $1 million reward, in hopes that it would help bring her mom home.

At one point, the FBI said it had received “over 13,000 tips from the public,” but Nancy Guthrie still has not been found.
