A mother determined to get revenge on her abusive ex enlists her daughters for payback in the trailer for Is God Is.
The upcoming thriller from Amazon MGM Studios features a star-studded cast that includes Vivica A. Fox and Sterling K. Brown.
“Make your daddy dead, real dead,” says Fox. She plays a mother known as “God,” who was left disfigured after her ex set her on fire in front of her kids, then abandoned he family.
Kara Young and Mallori Johnson co-star as her twin daughters known as “The Rough One” and “The Quiet One.”
Brown portrays the violent father who has since moved on with his life. The ensemble cast also includes Janelle Monáe, Erika Alexander, Mykelti Williamson, and Josiah Cross.
Based on an award-winning play by the same name from Aleshea Harris, Is God Is directed and written by Harris, marking her feature film directorial debut.
Here’s the official description for the thriller: “In Is God Is, two sisters embark on an epic quest for revenge, confronting a charged family history that will push them to extraordinary lengths.”
The film is produced by Tessa Thompson, Kishori Rajan, Riva Marker, Janicza Bravo, and Aleshea Harris. Executive Producers include Stacy O’Neil, Nicole King, and Kenneth Yu
