Remember the “Platinum Plan” — Donald Trump’s blueprint for the Black community that Ice Cube tried to sell to voters when Trump ran for re-election in 2020?
Well, a lot of radio listeners in Los Angeles do and they are roasting the rapper for distancing himself from Trump 2.0.
Cube is facing backlash after a recent appearance on L.A. radio station Real 92.3. The “Check Yo Self” rapper sat down on “The Cruz Show,” and the conversation turned to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids happening across L.A.
Host J Cruz asked the hip-hop legend his thoughts on the raids, since he’s from L.A. and “a large portion of your audience is Latino.”
“It hurts,” Ice Cube replied. “To see people disrespected like that and the federal government, just being too heavy-handed and disrespectful, going to churches and weddings, and even grabbing people out of schools. It’s like, come on man. Y’all are overdoing it.”

Cube said ICE agents are racially profiling Latinos and detaining them because of the color of their skin.
“Nobody is safe. They don’t care who they grab. It’s sad,” he said.
The rapper and entrepreneur added that he “can’t wait” for this “period” to be over.
“They come in and disrespect everybody and want to traumatize people,” he said. “It’s played out.”
The radio station posted a clip from the interview on Instagram. While listeners agreed with the message, they were not on board with the messenger.
One person even used the line “bye, Felicia” — meaning get TF out of here — from Cube’s iconic movie Friday.
“He votes for taco, bye Felicia!! Not a fan,” the person wrote.
“Another sell out like Snoop that voted for the Orange Mussolini, now trying to be relevant,” someone else replied.
“Total Trumper, What a Joke,” another person added.
“Let’s NOT FORGET HE ENDORSED Trump in the past,” someone else wrote.
“F Cube he’s a MAGA clown,” another person replied.
The full interview is on YouTube. Ice Cube discusses the ICE Raids at the 12:30 mark.
Students return to classes later this week in the Los Angeles Unified School District. But because or growing concerns about immigration raids, Los Angeles leaders announced a task force earlier Monday to reassure students and families that it’s safe to leave home.
They also detailed measures to address concerns, including changing and adding bus routes, increasing virtual learning opportunities, and deploying over 1,000 district office staff to areas where there have been large numbers of raids, local news station ABC 7 reported.
“Parents, if you are afraid of being on the street with your child, we more than likely can accommodate a specific bus route for your child,” LAUSD Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho said at a news conference.
“Our young people are going through this unnecessary trauma, which should not interfere with their education,” added L.A. Mayor Karen Bass.
