After making it out of a hijacked plane, Idris Elba faces danger underground in season 2 of Hijack.
Apple TV released the trailer for the upcoming season this week, showing Elba’s character Sam Nelson at the center of another heart-pounding crisis.
Premiering in January, season 2 centers on the passengers in a Berlin underground train, who are taken hostage.
“This train has been hijacked. There are over 200 passengers and if you do not do exactly what they say, then we will all die,” Sam Nelson warns authorities above ground.

As they scramble to prevent a tragedy, police begin to suspect Nelson and question if the attorney and corporate negotiator is involved.
The returning ensemble cast includes Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi.
Season 2 will also welcome Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul to the cast.
The first season was told in real time, and followed the voyage of a plane that was hijacked during a seven-hour flight to London. While police on the ground searched for clues, Nelson worked in the air to help bring the flight to safety.
Since its worldwide debut in June 2023, Hijack has become one of the most popular shows on Apple TV. It also landed on the Nielsen Streaming Originals Top 10 list.
Created by George Kay (Lupin and Criminal) and Jim Field Smith (Criminal and Litvinenko), the series is produced by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions, and is part of Elba’s first-look production deal with Apple TV.
Executive producers include Kay, Smith, and Elba alongside Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash.
The 8-episode second season of Hijack premieres globally on Jan. 14, 2026, with weekly episodes continuing through March 4. To catch up on the drama before then, the first season is available to stream on Apple TV.
