Donald Trump has made Gayle King his latest target, but the CBS Mornings host appears unbothered by his insults.
The president took to his Truth Social platform on Monday, Aug. 4 and claimed the Emmy Award-winning journalist has “no talent.”
He wrote in the post, “Gayle King’s career is over. She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP. She never had the courage to do so. No talent, no ratings, no strength!!!”
Trump included a link to a New York Post article claiming King’s future at CBS is “murky” due to low ratings, “left-wing bias,” and the network’s parent company Paramount Global being bought in a merger last month by Skydance Media.

TMZ caught up with King earlier today on a New York City street before she got into a car, and a photographer asked what she thought of Trump’s comments.
The veteran journalist, who has been at CBS for over a decade, told the outlet: “I’m sorry he feels that way. I like my job and I will continue to do a good job.”
King, 70, added that there’s a “long list” of talented celebrities Trump can’t stand, including Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Stephen Colbert.
Two weeks ago Colbert announced CBS told him it was canceling his Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The comedian broke the news to viewers on the July 17 episode of the late-night show, saying, “Next year will be our last season. The network will be ending The Late Show in May.”
In a statement, CBS Studios and parent Paramount Global said the decision was “financial.”
“We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television. This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount,” the statement read.
But critics accused Paramount of caving to Trump because the left-leaning Colbert is a frequent critic of his administration.
Trump celebrated the cancellation, writing on Truth social: “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!”
Just before the FCC greenlit the $8 billion merger last month, Skydance told the Trump administration it would eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion programs at Paramount and hire a watchdog at CBS News to eliminate “bias.”
