What should have been a foodie content date turned terrifying for two influencers in Texas.
Social media stars Nina Santiago, known online as “Nina Unrated,” and Patrick Blackwood were recording a food review video at a Houston restaurant over the weekend, when an SUV crashed through a window and straight into the booth where they were seated.
The pair were filming at CuVee’s Culinary Creations, a small Black-owned restaurant in Houston, when the accident happened mid-bite of the review.
Their camera captured the moment when shattered glass rained down and the two scrambled to get away from the table, which was covered in food.
Clips of the crash posted on social media have gone viral, showing the car slamming through the restaurant’s window as the staff in the back reacted in shock.

The two later shared the full video on YouTube and reflected on the experience in the description box.
“We can’t even begin to express how incredibly fortunate we feel to be alive after what happened to us,” they wrote. “We were laughing, having a great time, and right as we tapped our sliders together in a ‘boom!’ cheers moment, out of nowhere, this SUV came barreling through the glass wall at 35-40 mph.”
They went on to describe the chaos that followed.
“No warning at all glass shattered everywhere, chaos erupted, and it hit right next to Patrick on the outside of the booth. We were inches from disaster, but by some miracle, we’re both okay, just shaken and forever changed,” they said.
“This terrifying experience has made us realize just how precious life is,” they continued.
“Tomorrow is not promised do what you want to do today, live happy today, let go of everything holding you back, and forgive everybody,” the pair added. “You don’t have time for that nonsense,” they added. “We truly feel like we’ve been given a second chance, and we’re committed to making the most of it.”
On an Instagram post, Nina said they were in the middle of trying a salmon slider when the SUV came crashing in. “Presidential oysters, a macaroni and cheese flight (classic, lobster, and truffle), shrimp and grits” were also spread across the table.
Both vloggers were injured and shared updates on their recovery, posting photos of their cuts, stitches, and hospital visit.
“Grateful to see another day, walking away from the small stuff with a big purpose!,” Blackwood wrote on his caption.
The restaurant said the crash happened on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 16, and shared that they are beyond grateful no one was severely hurt.
“The outpouring of love, support, and concern from our community has meant so much to us. While this was unexpected, our amazing staff is here and ready to continue serving you the same great food and hospitality you know and love this weekend.”
It’s unclear what caused the crash. TMZ interviewed the owner and learned investigators determined that the driver was not impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The outlet said the female driver was on her way to the restaurant for a private event when something “went very wrong.” The owner said the driver will be held responsible for the damages to his business.
