Emmy Nominations 2025 Announced: See the List of Nominees

The 2025 Emmy nominees include (L-R) Uzo Aduba, Sterling K. Brown, Brian Tyree Henry, Quinta Brunson and Ayo Edebiri

The nominations for the 77th Emmy Awards were announced Tuesday morning, with psychological thriller Severance leading all shows with 27 nominations. It was followed by The Penguin with 24 nods.

Among the acting nominees, Sterling K. Brown picked up a nomination in the lead actor in a drama series category for his performance in apocalyptic political thriller Paradise.

Brown will compete in the category against Pedro Pascal for his role in The Last of Us; Gary Oldman in Slow Horses; Adam Scott in Severance; and Noah Wyle in The Pitt.

Brian Tyree Henry received a nomination in the outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for his role in the crime drama Dope Thief.

In the lead actress in a comedy series category, the competition is fierce with Uzo Aduba nominated for her role Netflix’s recently-canceled The Residence.

She’ll compete against Quinta Brunson in Abbott Elementary. Ayo Edebiri is nominated in the category for her role in The Bear. Kristen Bell is nominated for Nobody Wants This; and Jean Smart received a nomination for Hacks.

Beyoncé received two nominations for her 2024 NFL Christmas GameDay halftime performance popularly called “Beyoncé Bowl. The singer co-directed the special and received nominations in the outstanding directing for a variety special category and in the category of outstanding variety special (live).

She’ll face Kendrick Lamar’s Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in the category.

Actors Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) and Brenda Song (Running Point) hosted the live streamed nominations alongside Television Academy chair Cris Abrego from the Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California.

“Congratulations to all of the nominees,” Abrego said at the end of the ceremony.

Earlier in the day, the nominations for best talk series and reality competition were revealed on CBS Mornings.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to air live on CBS from the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The show will be available to stream on Paramount+.

A week earlier, the majority of the winners will be announced over two nights at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 7.
