Sean “Diddy” Combs is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 3, following his conviction on two prostitution charges, a federal judge confirmed during a virtual hearing on Tuesday.
The July 8 hearing only lasted a few minutes, the Associated Press reported. The outlet said lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo didn’t even turn on his camera and Combs asked him to switch it on so they could see each other’s faces.
Agnifilo had requested the sentencing be moved from Oct. 3 to Sept. 22, nearly two weeks earlier than the original sentencing date set by the court.
In a letter filed before today’s hearing, the defense and prosecution noted that they had agreed on a timeline for the mogul to be sentenced after the probation department said it could not accommodate an earlier sentencing.
The two sides signaled they were both fine with the original date.

Combs, 55, was acquitted on three more serious charges in his racketeering and sex trafficking trial last week, but found guilty of the two lesser counts.
Each prostitution charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
After the verdict, Judge Arun Subramanian rejected a defense request to release the Bad Boy Records founder on $1 million bail.
Instead, Combs was taken back to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York — where he’s been held since his arrest in September 2024.
Over the weekend, Agnifilo told the AP Combs received a standing ovation from fellow inmates at the MDC when he returned to the facility.
“They all said, ‘We never get to see anyone who beats the government,’” Agnifilo stated.
While Combs avoided a life sentence when jurors acquitted him of the more serious counts, Civil Rights attorney Areva Martin told Urban Hollywood 411 the mogul’s reputation will forever be tarnished.
“This is a man that was on the Forbes richest man’s list at one point, who was for many an icon, who now has become a two-time convicted felon. That’s incredible to note, and I think that’s important for the victims,” Martin said after the verdict was announced.
