Sean “Diddy” Combs  is asking the court to let him out on bail as he awaits sentencing in October, for his conviction on two transportation to engage in prostitution counts.

In a motion filed in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, July 29,  the music mogul’s legal team said “Sean Combs should not be in jail,” according to court documents posted online by legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff.

The attorneys argued it is unfair that the mogul remains jailed while others “involved in this identical conduct — his girlfriends, the “cowboys,” the agency’s leaders, the porn stars and others — walk free, as they should.”

The defense proposed a bail package that includes: $50 million bond backed by Combs’ Florida estate; signatures by “three financially responsible” co-signers; home detention and monitoring; travel limited to Florida and New York; and surrendering his passport.

While jurors acquitted Combs on July 2, of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, they found him guilty on the two lesser prostitution counts.

That same day, Judge Arun Subramanian denied the mogul’s bail request, after reading letters to the court saying Combs posed a threat. The defense had proposed home confinement with $1 million bond.

Subramanian reminded lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo that he said in court Combs could be violent and had physically abused his ex-girlfriends.

“You full-throatedly in your closing argument told the jury that there was violence here, and domestic violence is violence,” Subramanian said.

Before the judge handed down his decision, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura had her attorney Douglas Wigdor submit a letter to the court, saying Combs was a threat to the singer and his other alleged victims.

“Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community,” Wigdor wrote.

Cassie’s friend and celebrity stylist, Deonte Nash, who testified that he tried to physically restrain Combs while he was attacking the singer, also wrote a letter to the judge expressing “grave concern” about the mogul being released.

“Many of us have firsthand knowledge of the fear he instills in those around him. I can say without hesitation that he is a serious and immediate threat to victims. witnesses, and the broader community,” Nash wrote.

Diddy’s former chef Jourdan Cha’Taun Atkinson later went public on social media to say she wrote a letter to the judge as well, urging him to deny the mogul’s bail request.

“There has been a clear pattern of physical, sexual and financial abuse on his part for years. Releasing him now would be unjust,” she wrote about Combs. “This verdict is devastating.”

The rapper and producer remains jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York while he awaits sentencing on Oct. 3.

He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years for each prostitution count.
