As he settles into prison in New Jersey, Sean “Diddy” Combs faces new legal troubles thousands of miles away.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed it is investigating allegations that the embattled hip-hop mogul sexually assaulted a male music producer in 2020 and 2021.
According to ABC News, investigators received a report on Friday from the Largo Police Department in Florida, where the alleged victim now lives. The LASD Special Victims Bureau is looking into the man’s claims.
A spokesperson in Largo told the outlet it is not conducting its own investigation. Instead, it forwarded the information it received, including pictures, to the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office as they gather evidence.

The police report was taken in September from a man alleging Combs sexually assaulted him in 2021, after a previous incident in 2020.
The report released to ABC redacts the alleged victim’s name, but celebrity publicist and music producer Jonathan Hay recently identified himself as the alleged victim in since-deleted social media posts.
ABC News sent a request for comment to Combs’ legal team, but did not get a response.
Hay filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in July as an anonymous John Doe accuser. Weeks later, he publicly identified himself and alleged in interviews that he was sexually assaulted by Combs.
The mogul’s legal team denied the allegations in Hay’s lawsuit.
In October, Hay did an interview with the RealLyfe Productions YouTube channel.
The producer said he witnessed Combs pleasure himself into a Notorious B.I.G. T-shirt in February 2020. Hay said Combs requested he “finish him off.” Hay said he did not respond because he was in shock. In response, he claimed Combs threw the stained shirt at him.
Hay also alleged Christopher “C.J.” Wallace, the son of late rapper Notorious B.I.G. and R&B singer Faith Evans, participated in “freak off” sex sessions with Combs.
Hay said in 2021, Wallace and others lured him to a building belonging to the Revolt cable TV network, which Combs founded.
“They picked me up, and that’s what it says in the lawsuit, and they took me to a Revolt-affiliated house,” Hay said in the podcast interview.
He claimed the men at the house put something over his head obstructing his view before he was allegedly assaulted by Combs.
“They push me back into this room and um, there’s this ottoman. I fall in the back of the chair and then Diddy comes in and I could hear his voice,” Hay stated. “I could see his feet and I’m like trying to look up you know through these little cracks you know like what’s going.”
Hay said Combs began to berate him, then allegedly assaulted him.
“Diddy is like putting his d–k in my mouth and, he’s grabbing my head,” Hay said.
Hay also spoke with entertainment outlet ShockYa, and said he wants justice.
“It’s about pushing for criminal charges. I want all Diddy’s victims to have justice. For me, it was the right thing to do. Having a voice is important,” he told the outlet. Hay’s full lawsuit is posted on the ShockYa website.
On Nov. 12, Wallace filed a defamation lawsuit in response to Hay’s allegations, People magazine reported.
“Hay acted with actual malice, knowing the statements were false or with reckless disregard for their truth or falsity,” Wallace’s lawsuit alleged.
The complaint additionally said Wallace “has suffered general and special damages, including loss of professional opportunities, humiliation, and mental anguish.”
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence in the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, in Burlington County, New Jersey, following his conviction on July 2 under the Mann Act for transporting people across state lines for prostitution. Jurors found him not guilty of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
A federal judge sentenced him on Oct. 3.
Combs was scheduled to leave prison on May 8, 2028. But the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has pushed his release date to June 4, 2028, its website says.
The change came after viral news reports saying the mogul allegedly violated multiple prison rules within days of his arrival.
