Another day, another court filing for Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The music mogul’s legal team submitted a notice of criminal appeal in Manhattan federal court on Monday, Oct. 20, according to the document obtained by ABC News.

Combs’ attorney Alexandra Shapiro filed the two-page form, notifying the court that Combs is appealing his conviction and 50 month prison sentence.

Copies of the document posted online show it carried a “docking fee” of $605, and fee was paid by credit card. The mogul’s attorneys are expected to submit additional details explaining the grounds for the appeal in the coming weeks.

On Oct. 3, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to just over four years for his conviction on two prostitution-related counts.

The Bad Boy Records founder was also ordered to pay a $500,000 fine – the maximum amount allowed under the law.

He will get time served for the 13 months he has spent at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) since his arrest in September 2024. He is expected to serve two to three years in federal prison.

Combs was convicted on July 2 under the Mann Act for transporting people across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.

His ex-girlfriends testified about his history of violence and obsession with group sex involving the women and male prostitutes.

Jurors found him not guilty of the most serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

The mogul’s attorneys confirmed in interviews they are lobbying the White House for a presidential pardon.

Nicole Westmoreland, who was one of eight attorneys representing Combs at trial, told CNN in August that there had been active conversations between Diddy’s legal team and the Trump administration.

“My understanding is that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” she said.

In addition to Westmoreland and Shapiro, the rapper and producer’s trial attorneys included Marc Agnifilo, Teny Geragos, Brian Steel, Jason Driscoll, Anna Maria Estevao, and Xavier R. Donaldson.

Earlier this month, Trump confirmed that he had been approached by the legal team about a pardon for Combs.

“A lot of people have asked me for pardons,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “I call him Puff Daddy, [he] has asked me for a pardon.”

This evening, TMZ reported Trump could make a decision on a pardon as early as this week.

Sources told the outlet Trump is “vacillating” on a commutation. Although his advisors have reportedly urged to ignore Combs.

Still, the sources said “Trump will do what he wants,” and he could commute the Bad Boy Records founder this week.
