The district attorney’s office in Gwinnett County, Georgia has decided not to file charges in the fatal shooting of Atlanta rapper T-Hood.
The rapper, born Tevin Hood, was 33 years old when he was killed in August 2025.
Gwinnett Judicial Circuit District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson recently announced the investigation into the shooting had ended and the evidence did not support a criminal case.
“This office finds that there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges for this unfortunate tragedy.”
Austin-Gatson added that the findings “align with the police determination that the shooting death was self-defense.”

The D.A.’s office said investigators were unable to find any witnesses to the shooting.
“We specifically investigated whether there was a ride-share driver present who witnessed the shooting, and there was no witness there. Rather, there were neighbors who showed up after hearing gunfire. But they did not witness the shooting,” Austin-Gatson said.
Hood’s mother, Yulanda Bandy, released a statement on Facebook this morning criticizing the decision not to file charges.
“Justice for THood, I’m not ok. Please keep me in prayer. As we continue to fight for justice,” Bandy wrote.
Hood was fatally shoot at his home in unincorporated Snellville, Georgia on the night of Aug. 8, 2025.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said at the time that the shooting followed a “domestic disturbance” at the home that resulted “in a female victim sustaining physical injuries.”
Multiple media outlets reported Hood was living with girlfriend Kelsie Frost, who is the daughter of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta stars Kirk Frost and Rasheeda Frost.
TMZ, which was among the first outlets to report on the shooting, said the celebrity couple’s 24-year-old son, Ky Frost, was at the center of the case.
A police spokesperson told the outlet Hood was the “primary aggressor” during a fight and allegedly pulled a gun.
Police released a statement saying they had detained a person of interest.
Local media outlets reported Ky’s name was listed on the police report, but he was not considered a suspect.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner released the autopsy report in August 2025, which showed Hood was shot five times. The report noted that there were entry wounds in his back, abdomen, buttocks, and each thigh, as previously reported.
Days after the shooting, the police department issued a statement saying the case was being investigated as “possible self-defense.”
T-Hood’s mother disputed the findings at the time, and said her son was “walking away” when he was shot.
