The trophies were handed out Sunday night at the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards, and One Battle After Another took the top prize.
The action thriller about a group of ex-revolutionaries being hunted down by a rogue colonel was named best picture. Paul Thomas Anderson, who helmed the film, also won the awards for best director and best adapted screenplay.
Other big winners during the ceremony at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, included the vampire film Sinners and the reimagined horror film Frankenstein, with each picking up four awards.

Sinners won best young actor/actress for Miles Caton; best original screenplay for writer-director Ryan Coogler; best casting and ensemble for Francine Maisler; and best score for Ludwig Göransson.
Frankenstein won the best supporting actor award for Jacob Elordi; best production design for Tamara Deverell and Shane Vieau; best costume design for Kate Hawley; and best hair and makeup for Mike Hill, Jordan Samuel and Cliona Furey.
In the television categories, Adolescence, about a 13-year-old boy accused of killing a classmate, picked up four awards, including best limited series; best actor in a limited series or TV movie for Stephen Graham; best supporting actor in a limited series or TV movie for Owen Cooper; and best supporting actress in a limited series or TV movie for Erin Doherty.

Abbott Elementary actress Janelle James took home the trophy for best supporting actress in a comedy series.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! was named best talk show after being taken off the air on Sept. 17, and returning days later with massive ratings.
Sunday’s ceremony was the first major celebration of the 2025-2026 Hollywood awards season.

Comedian Chelsea Handler hosted the awards for a fourth straight year.
At one point during the show, she paid tribute to the late Rob Reiner after the director and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead on Dec. 14.
“Everyone in this room knows that the nicest guy in Hollywood was Rob Reiner,” Handler said. “He was present, he was focused and he was funny, and he would ask you tons of questions, whether you were discussing politics or film or the latest beauty trends.”
The Critics Choice Association is made up of over 500 critics and entertainment journalists across the U.S. and Canada.
