Busta Rhymes is about to cement his place in Hollywood history with a star on the Walk of Fame.
The Grammy-nominated rapper will be honored with the 2,818th star on the Los Angeles landmark in the category of recording on Aug. 1.
Rhymes, born Trevor Smith Jr., will be joined by speakers Chris Rock, LL Cool J and Chuck D, organizers said in a press release.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be adding Busta Rhymes, one of hip-hop’s most enduring and electrifying voices, as a new member of Hollywood’s iconic sidewalk,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“His star on the Walk of Fame will stand as a testament to his lasting impact on hip-hop music and how important it is to the American culture,” Martinez added.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Busta Rhymes has released 11 solo albums and earned 12 Grammy nominations, per Grammy.com. He has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.
He first gained national attention as a member of the Leaders of the New School collective, before launching a solo career in 1996.
Busta even set a Guinness World Record for the most words in a hit single with his track “Break Ya Neck.”
In 2023, he received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award honoring his three decades in music, along with a tribute performance of his greatest hits.
