Brandy is recovering after leaving the stage in the middle of her concert with Monica in Chicago on Saturday night.
Video posted on social media showed Brandy walking off the stage and heading toward a set of stairs as she sang her 1990s single “Baby.”
She told the audience, “Give a second y’all while I give myself…” before her voice trailed off.
Some fans could be heard in the footage saying they were confused. Others asked what was happening and why Brandy abruptly ended her performance.

On Sunday, the songstress posted a statement on Instagram explaining why she exited the stage mid-performance.
“Thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and — most importantly — your prayers. I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s performance in Chicago. After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint. Everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance.
“I still made the decision to try and return and give it my all despite not feeling OK. With having to make some adjustments and the show being very technical, unfortunately, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production. I really appreciate everyone’s best efforts,” the statement read.
Brandy thanked co-headliner Monica “for stepping up with such grace and professionalism, and to the entire crew for their continued care and support.”
The “I Wanna Be Down” singer added that she saw a doctor and is taking the “proper precautions.”
Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” tour kicked off in Cincinnati Oct. 16. The 24-city arena tour is named after the pair’s Grammy Award-winning hit single by the same name.
Rodney Jerkins, Brandy, Japhe Tejeda, Fred Jerkins III, and LaShawn Daniels wrote the song, which spent 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, as previously reported.
Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, Coco Jones, plus American Idol season 23 winner Jamal Roberts are also touring with the pair.
The tour schedule includes stops in Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, Detroit, Greensboro, Houston, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Miami, New Orleans, Newark, Tampa, and Washington, D.C., and other cities, before it concludes on Dec. 14 in Jacksonville, Florida.
