Boosie Badazz has officially pleaded guilty in his federal weapons possession case in San Diego.
The Louisiana rapper, 42, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., entered the plea on Tuesday, Aug. 26, to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
After the hearing, he spoke to a local TV station outside the courthouse.
“I want to get it behind me, and get on with my life,” Boosie said in an interview with CBS 8 San Diego. “A lot of things this case has stopped me from doing, traveling all across the world. I just wanna get it over with. Accept my guilty plea, I’m ready to get it over with.”

When asked by the reporter what message he wanted to share with his fans, Boosie replied: “I just need prayer. I don’t need nothing else.”
As previously reported, the case dates back to May 2023, when Boosie was arrested in San Diego after police found two firearms in a vehicle he was riding in. At the time, he was in the city filming a music video and preparing for a nightclub performance.
Detectives said the video shoot took place in the backyard of a residence associated with a “known neighborhood Crip.”
When Boosie left the home, police used a helicopter to track the SUV he was in.
Law enforcement had been conducting a surveillance operation on social media and said they learned details about the video shoot while “intelligence gathering” on Instagram, as previously reported.
Boosie initially pleaded not guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Prosecutors said he had prior convictions in Louisiana on drug charges, making it illegal for him to carry a gun.
State charges were dropped, but federal prosecutors pursued the case, arguing Boosie violated federal law by possessing firearms as a convicted felon.
At that time, according to Fox 5 San Diego, prosecutors also claimed he posed a danger to the community and was a potential flight risk.
Despite those arguments, a federal judge granted Boosie $100,000 bail. He has remained free on bond since then, while fighting the case.
Earlier this month, the “Wipe Me Down” artist confirmed on X that he had accepted a plea deal.
He added that his family supported the decision. He also promised to continue working on new music while serving time.
That announcement came just days after he released his latest project, Words of a Real One, on Aug. 1.
Boosie, who lives in Atlanta, is a father of nine. His fiancée was by his side in the courtroom Tuesday, local news outlets said.
The rapper is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 21. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
