The Florida woman accused of opening fire on Rihanna and partner A$AP Rocky’s Los Angeles home, made her first court appearance on Tuesday and was formally charged.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Theresa R. McGonigle ordered Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, to remain jailed on $1.875 million bail, lowering the amount that was initially set at $10.2 million.
The judge issued a protective order against Ortiz, and told her to stay away from Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers. For now, Ortiz remains jailed.
Prosecutors announced they charged her with 14 counts — including one count of attempted murder involving Rihanna; 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm; two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling; and one count of shooting at an inhabited vehicle; along with an allegation that she intentionally discharged a rifle.

Ortiz’s arraignment was continued to March 25. If convicted as charged, she faces up to life in state prison.
“Opening fire in any populated neighborhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk and will be fully prosecuted,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement. “Thankfully, no one was injured in this shooting, but this careless violence will not be tolerated in our community.”
Ortiz is accused of driving up to the front gate of the couple’s home in L.A.’s Beverly Crest neighborhood around 1:15 p.m. on March 8, and firing a semiautomatic weapon “ten times” from a Tesla.
Bullets pierced a wall surrounding the property and an RV parked in the front yard.
An LAPD helicopter followed the suspect’s vehicle to the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, about 20 minutes away, and she was arrested shortly after the shooting.
At a news conference on an unrelated incident Tuesday, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said 10 people were at Rihanna’s home when the gunfire erupted.
The singer lives in the mansion with A$AP Rocky, and their three small children. Police confirmed the singer was at home when the shooting occurred.
Reporters asked McDonnell when Ortiz arrived in Los Angeles.
“My understanding is the person drove here from Florida. How long they’ve been in the area … I don’t have that information,” he said. “[Investigators] are working on that. That would be part of the whole motive, why the person came out here. We haven’t established a motive.”
People magazine published a story quoting sources as saying Rihanna “is freaking the f–k out” over the incident.
Multiple outlets reported the “Umbrella” singer boarded a private plane on Monday at Van Nuys Airport and left L.A.
Ortiz’s previous social media posts show she has a fixation on the singer and other celebrities. In a video posted to YouTube, Ortiz claimed Rihanna was trying to take her life.
“She looks really stupid and corny and everyone knows it,” she said about the singer. “The way that Rihanna wants to kill me, she’s the one who wants to kill me.”
According to the website Arrests.org, Ortiz had three previous arrests in Florida, including one for battery domestic violence.
While the LAPD rarely releases suspect booking photos, Ortiz has three online from her arrests in Florida.
