“What the hell was he thinking?” the comedian quipped.
“Empire” actor was expected to attend after the charges against him were dropped.
Indictment claims the actor lied to Chicago police about being victim of phony attack.
Ola and Abel Osundairo were paid to stage the attack, according to Chicago police.
“How can you not believe that? It’s the truth,” he told Robin Roberts.
“I am working with authorities and have been 100% factual,” the actor said Friday.
Police say tensions are high ahead of the film’s world premiere.
“We are suspending Paris, effective immediately,” the cable network says in a statement.
