Raheem DeVaughn is setting the mood for nighttime radio with slow jams and conversations about love.

This week the R&B singer launched “The Garden of Love,” a new show from Urban One’s Reach Media and Radio One.

The syndicated program airs Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to midnight on Washington, D.C.’s Majic 102.3 WMMJ. Other stations carrying the show include WAMJ in Atlanta, WPPZ in Philadelphia, WWIN in Baltimore, and WKJS in Richmond.

Along with playing romantic R&B, the “I Don’t Care” singer takes calls from listeners, shares their dedications and leads conversations about relationships and life.

“Grateful to everyone who has supported my radio journey! This new chapter with Urban One is about building a new nighttime syndicated tradition and truly something special for the listeners. The future is bright, and we’re just getting started!” DeVaughn said in a statement to Urban Hollywood 411.

Known as “The Love King of R&B and Soul,” the Newark-born artist released his tenth studio album The Quiet Storm Lover (Tome Un) earlier this year.

Urban One executives said his connection with fans makes him a natural fit for the new show.

“We are thrilled to have Raheem DeVaughn join the Urban One family. He brings an energy, talent set, and connection to our audience that is second to none,” said Eddie Harrell Jr., co-president of Urban One’s audio division.

“‘The Garden of Love’ will provide our listeners with a unique experience as they settle in for great music and interaction on a nightly basis,” Harrell added.

Colby Tyner, senior vice president of programming for Radio One and Reach Media, said the show is designed to give listeners room to relax and connect.

“With ‘The Garden of Love,’ we’re bringing that connection to nighttime radio through great music and meaningful conversations about love, relationships, and life. We want listeners to have a place to unwind, feel heard and end their day with Raheem,” Tyner said.
