OWN is bringing back its annual OWN for the Holidays tradition with new movies featuring Amber Stevens West, Jenifer Lewis, Debbie Allen, Corinne Foxx, and Obba Babatundé.
The network announced Tuesday its eighth annual holiday programming event will include The Christmas Showdown 2 and Tapping Into Christmas.
The films are scheduled to premiere on consecutive Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, starting Nov. 28.
“OWN For the Holidays has become a beloved tradition for our viewers, and this year we’re thrilled to bring them stories that capture the joy, warmth and spirit of the season in very different ways,” OWN President Tina Perry said in a statement.
Perry added, “We’re especially excited to continue the story of The Christmas Showdown with OWN’s first-ever holiday movie sequel, while also introducing Tapping Into Christmas.”

First up is The Christmas Showdown 2. West and Corbin Reid return as Chastity and April, with Lewis and Tommy Miles also starring.
Chastity and April are ready to make a splash in Sugar Heights during their first year running H-Town Events on their own. But their plans hit a snag when the mayor, played by Miles, brings in a national event planning company to help revive the struggling town. Lewis plays Tate, the owner of Largesse Productions.
With their business on the line, Chastity and April take on Tate and the mayor while navigating trouble with the men they love — and sometimes each other. The sequel premieres Saturday, Nov. 28.
The next weekend, Tapping Into Christmas brings music and dance to the holiday season. Corinne Foxx and D Smoke lead the cast alongside Allen and Babatundé. Tap dancing stars and Syncopated Ladies founders Chloé Arnold and Maud Arnold also appear in the film.
Foxx plays Jeni Walker, who returns home to Memphis for Christmas after her theater career in New York stalls. Once home, she discovers her beloved community theater Heritage House is about to close.
Jeni teams up with her sisters, Cora and Mable, played by Chloé and Maud Arnold, to stage a holiday tap showcase to save the theater. Along the way, soulful musician Chance, played by D Smoke, helps her rediscover her love of performing.
Allen plays Ms. Dianne, Jeni’s mentor and the owner of Heritage House. Babatundé portrays Mr. Duncan, her childhood tap instructor. Created and choreographed by the Arnold sisters, Tapping Into Christmas premieres Saturday, Dec. 5.
Both movies are produced by Fox Entertainment Studios for OWN, with Fox Entertainment Global handling international distribution.
