Calvin’s barbershop is getting ready to welcome customers again, and Prime Video is giving fans an early look inside.

The streamer unveiled two photos on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from its upcoming Barbershop sequel series and announced all eight episodes will premiere on Feb. 10, 2027.

Inspired by the beloved film franchise, the series brings viewers back to Chicago with a new generation of barbers, customers and conversations.

Jermaine Fowler (The Blackening) leads the cast as Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to the city hoping to honor his grandfather’s legacy at the iconic shop. But the neighborhood business has changed, and so has the city.

As Trav tries to find his place among a new crew of barbers and loyal customers, the shop is still a place for “sharp fades, sharp opinions, and a community that always has something to say,” according to the official description.

The cast also includes comedians Punkie Johnson and Roy Wood Jr., along with Brett Gray, E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye, and Langston Kerman.

The guest lineup features Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, Comedian CP, Devon Walker and Belmont Cameli.

The original movie franchise began with Barbershop in 2002, followed by Barbershop 2: Back in Business in 2004 and Barbershop: The Next Cut in 2016.

Ice Cube starred as Calvin Palmer, whose shop served as the neighborhood’s unofficial gathering spot.

The iconic movies also starred Cedric the Entertainer, Eve, Anthony Anderson, Sean Patrick Thomas, Michael Ealy, Keith David, DeRay Davis, and Troy Garity.

Prime Video announced the new series in May 2025. Marshall Todd, who co-wrote the original film, serves as a writer, executive producer and co-showrunner on the series alongside Max Searle.

Kevin Hart also executive produces through his Hartbeat production company. Additional executive producers include Fowler and Oz Rodriguez, who directs.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Barbershop will stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
