Tatyana Ali and Alfonso Ribeiro to Reunite on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Tatyana Ali is heading to the ballroom, setting the stage for a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion on the new season of Dancing with the Stars.

The actress, who played Ashley Banks on the beloved NBC sitcom, has joined the celebrity cast for season 35 of the ABC competition series.

Ali will reunite with former co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, who played her old brother Carlton Banks. Ribeiro co-hosts DWTS alongside Julianne Hough.

He shared the screen with Ali on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air throughout the show’s six-season run from 1990 to 1996.

Ali, a Harvard-educated and Broadway-trained actress, singer and writer, has worked in the entertainment industry for four decades. In addition to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, her acting credits include The Young and the Restless, Bel-Air and several TV movies, including the Lifetime thriller Vanished: Searching for My Sister.

Ribeiro competed on season 19 of DWTS in 2014. He crushed the competition with his famous “Carlton” dance and took home the Mirrorball Trophy.

ABC revealed the details on the new season of the competition Wednesday, Sept. 2, on Good Morning America.

The season will also feature Grey’s Anatomy actor Harry Shum Jr.; actress and dancer Jenna Dewan; celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis; actress Julia Stiles; and Taylor Hanson of pop group Hanson.

Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli will return to the judges’ table.

There will also be changes among the professional dancers. Adele Zaikman, winner of the inaugural season of Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, joins the professional lineup, while Sharna Burgess returns as a pro for the first time since 2021.

Season 35 premieres over two nights on Sept. 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC and Disney+. New episodes will then air Tuesdays and stream the following day on Hulu.
