Joy Bryant (Parenthood and For Life) and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead and Prison Break) lead the cast of Lifetime’s newly announced Sole Survivor of Flight 119, a survival drama inspired by real events.
The film is part of the “Strength of a Lifetime” September movie event centering on women facing “unimaginable” challenges.
The network also announced The Ocean Between Them, starring Rebecca Gayheart and Jessica Lord. The drama follows a young woman stranded at sea after a devastating storm and her mother’s determination to bring her home.
“Our ‘Strength of a Lifetime’ movies celebrate the resilience of people whose lives were forever changed by unimaginable events,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming at A&E, Lifetime and LMN. “These remarkable stories honor the courage to survive and the power of hope to overcome life’s greatest challenges.”

The new movies join the previously announced Robin Roberts Presents Angel in the Rubble: The Genelle Guzman Story.
Starring Sherri Shepherd and Dondré Whitfield, the film recounts the survival story of Genelle Guzman (Shepherd), a New York City transit worker who was buried beneath the rubble following the collapse of the North Tower on Sept. 11, 2001.
The film comes from Rock’n Robin Productions. Journalist Robin Roberts, Linda Berman, and Anne Carlucci serve as executive producers alongside Shepherd, Jameson Parker, Gemma Martini, Richard Foster, and Chet Fenster. The movie premieres Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8/7c.
Sole Survivor of Flight 119
After a routine flight takes a harrowing turn, Lisa Foster (Sarah Wayne Callies) survives a devastating plane crash deep in the Mexican jungle. As the sole survivor, she must rely on her resourcefulness, inner strength and faith to survive. Meanwhile, Rebecca Till (Joy Bryant), an airline executive who narrowly missed boarding Flight 119, is assigned to assist the families of the missing passengers.
Based on author Tammy L. Kling’s memoir Exit Row, the film is produced by All Canadian Entertainment for Lifetime. Brad Krevoy, Olivia Krevoy, Amy Hartwick, Ernie Barbarash, Amy Krell, Dattaguru Mahabal, Robert Bricker, and Ross Andrew Katz serve as executive producers, with Darren Robson producing. The film premieres Saturday, Sept. 19 at 8/7c.
The Ocean Between Them
Inspired by actual events, the film follows a devoted mother whose world is upended when her daughter disappears at sea during a vacation in Belize. Rebecca Gayherat, Jessica Lord, and Karl Walcott lead the cast.
The movie is produced by Evoke Entertainment for Lifetime. Stan Spry, Jeff Holland, Lisa Alford, and Anthony Fankhauser executive produce. Gabriel Correa directs from a script by Sam Lee, Angela Gulner, and Yuri Baranovsky. The film premieres Saturday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c.
