Sean Combs: The Reckoning has received major Emmy Awards recognition.
The documentary series from director Alexandria Stapleton and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson earned three Primetime Emmy nominations on Wednesday.
The docuseries was nominated in the categories for outstanding documentary or nonfiction series; outstanding directing for a documentary/nonfiction program; and outstanding picture editing for a nonfiction program.
Stapleton expressed gratitude in a statement posted to social media Wednesday afternoon:
“Thank you to the Television Academy for nominating Sean Combs: The Reckoning for three Emmy Awards. The entire team behind the series could not be more humbled. We are grateful to the participants in this series for trusting us with their stories. Our hope is that the series continues to create space for difficult truths while encouraging audiences to ask deeper questions about responsibility, culture, and change.”

Sean Combs: The Reckoning debuted on Dec. 2, and was viewed 21.8 million times in its first six days of release, Netflix said.
The project detailed allegations of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and drug use by Combs, who was convicted in July 2025 on two prostitution-related Mann Act counts. The Bad Boy Records founder is serving a 50-month sentence at a federal prison in New Jersey and is scheduled to be released in 2028.
In addition to climbing Netflix’s streaming charts, the series dominated social media, and was the subject of extensive news coverage.
It will compete in the outstanding documentary category against The Yogurt Shop Murders, The American Revolution, Mr. Scorsese, and sports documentary Rafa.
The Emmy Awards air live coast-to-coast from Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and will stream on Peacock.
The majority of the awards will be handed out at The Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026.
