Newly released video appears to show rapper Pooh Shiesty demanding music mogul Gucci Mane release him from a recording contract as Gucci is held at gunpoint in a Texas recording studio.

The footage was introduced into evidence by federal prosecutors in Dallas, the Associated Press reported on July 2.

Multiple news outlets and social media accounts have since posted the video online. The now-viral footage shows a man said to be Gucci Mane, wearing a yellow tracksuit and sneakers. He walks toward a door before another man holds up an AK-style firearm and blocks his path.

According to the AP, multiple victims were identified only by their initials in court filings. Their faces are covered in the redacted video.

One victim, identified as “R.D.,” is described as the owner of 1017 Records. Gucci Mane’s legal name is Radric Delantic Davis.

Another man, who prosecutors identified as Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, enters the frame and stands next to Gucci Mane.

Gucci says in the video, “You said you want to be dropped, you dropped. I signed the paper, it’s done.”

A man with Pooh Shiesty then tells Gucci to repeat that the rapper has been released from 1017 Records.

“Let them know you dropped the n—a,” the unidentified man says.

“I dropped you,” Gucci Mane replies. “Pooh Shiesty dropped from 1017.”

The confrontation unfolded in January of this year. Prosecutors allege Memphis drill rapper BIG30, whose legal name is Rodney Wright, recorded the video with his phone.

Just before the recording started, prosecutors say Pooh Shiesty handed Gucci Mane a printed document saying he was released from his contract, and allegedly forced the mogul to sign it under duress.

Pooh Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., was arrested in April and charged with kidnapping and robbery/extortion. He pleaded not guilty on all counts.

His father, Lontrell Williams Sr., and Big30 were among eight others charged with the same counts in the case.

According to an April 2 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, Pooh Shiesty requested a meeting to discuss the terms of his contract. Prosecutors say Gucci Mane traveled to Dallas with two associates believing they were attending a business meeting.

The prosecution alleges Pooh Shiesty brought a small army to the meeting.

“As alleged, nine defendants traveled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting,” U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said in a statement.

“Instead of discussing business… the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives,” Raybould added.

According to the criminal complaint, the victims were robbed and had their Rolex watches, jewelry, cash and other valuables taken. Prosecutors allege one victim was choked until he was nearly unconscious.

Pooh Shiesty’s former attorney Bradford Cohen, who stepped away from the case in April, has criticized the release of the footage. In a video statement posted to Instagram on July 2, he accused prosecutors of leaking the video and called the release “nasty work.”

His former client has a history with law enforcement. He was released from federal prison in October 2025, after serving three years for a 2020 shooting in Florida.

Prosecutors said Pooh Shiesty was on home confinement at the time of the January robbery and allegedly violated the terms of his release. He remains in custody without bond. The rapper’s trial has been postponed until February 2027.
