Damon Dash is teaming up with BET for the upcoming documentary series OG Stories, focusing on “self-made bosses who built empires from nothing.”
BET announced the premiere date on Thursday, May 28, after greenlighting the project in March.
The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder serves as host and executive producer of the series, which debuts on June 17.
“I want to thank BET, Louis Carr and Brian Rikuda for believing in the vision and giving this show a home,” Dash said when the show was first announced.
He added, “OG Stories is really MY Paid in Full, a depiction of real life and real people I know. These are friends and peers who lived this, built something out of nothing, and earned the lessons that come with it. This series is about telling those stories the way they actually happened.”
The show will air over five weeks, with the first episode focusing on Michelle Smalls (aka the Queen of Harlem). Smalls is an author and real estate broker who owns several businesses, including a real estate firm.
The second episode follows criminal defense attorney Dawn Florio, who is known for representing rappers Tekashi 6ix9ine and Lil Tjay.
In the final three episodes, Dash is joined by Steve Mack, his childhood friend from Harlem, who worked with him on Beat 139 and Roc-A-Fella Records.
The series comes from The Dash Group LLC and Jason Harvey.
In a contentious September 2025 intervew on “The Breakfast Club,” Dash said he didn’t believe in working for others, and called hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God “dumb” for being employed by iHeart Radio.
Dash insisted they should own media outlets instead of answering to a corporation. Charlamagne fired back by calling Dash “broke,” and noted that he had recently filed for bankruptcy, and his assets were being auctioned off.
Now it seems Dash has had a change of heart about employment and is answering to BET.
OG Stories will air over five weeks, beginning on June 17 at 11pm ET / 10pm CT. You can watch the trailer on BET’s YouTube channel.
