Michael B. Jordan teamed up with two young relatives to unveil the first trailer for his new animated movie Swapped.

Netflix posted the promo on social media Thursday, April 2. The video begins with a barefoot Jordan sitting in the grass with his young niece and nephew, who excitedly help him introduce the trailer.

The Oscar-winning actor’s nephew says, “Hi! This is my uncle Mike.”

Jordan adds, “We’re gonna watch the trailer for my new movie Swapped, only on Netflix.”

“Hope you like it,” his niece says after getting a little prompting.

The film tells the story of a small woodland creature, voiced by Jordan, and a bird, played by Juno Temple. The two are natural enemies, but suddenly swap bodies and must work together “to survive the wildest adventure of their lives,” according to the official description.

Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope also have voice roles in the film.

Nathan Greno directs from a story written by John Whittington (The Lego Batman Movie) and writing partners Christian Magalhães and Robert Snow.

Swapped is an unpredictable, emotional ride — full of humor, spectacle, and heart,” Greno told Netflix blog Tudum. “We drew from live-action nature documentaries, exploring the complexity of a wild ecosystem to capture something that feels vibrant and deeply human.”

The director credited Jordan and Temple with bringing the characters to life. “Every moment between them feels alive — funny one second, deeply moving the next. Their chemistry lifts the story and gives Swapped its wings,” Greno said.

The movie comes from producers John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews for Skydance Animation and Netflix.

Swapped begins streaming on Friday, May 1, 2026.
