Three men face murder charges in connection with the killing of up-and-coming Latin music singer DELAROSA, Los Angeles authorities said Wednesday.
DELAROSA, born Maria De La Rosa, was fatally shot in L.A.’s Northridge neighborhood on Saturday, Nov. 22, according to an LAPD news release.
The 22-year-old singer was sitting in a parked car with two other people in the area of Bryant Street and Tampa Avenue, when the suspects approached them, demanded money, and opened fire.
“The suspects fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, fatally striking Ms. De La Rosa,” the LAPD said.

Prosecutors described the shooting as an “ambush-style attack.”
De La Rosa was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. The other two victims survived, but suffered “critical” injuries.
The shooting, which was believed to be gang related, happened near the campus of California State University, Northridge.
The suspects fled the scene, but were quickly identified by members of an LAPD/FBI Fugitive Task Force, area gang enforcement officers, and homicide detectives from LAPD’s Valley Bureau.
Police arrested Francisco Gaytan, 27, hours after the shooting. Benny LinconGomez, 27, was taken into custody the next day. An arrest warrant has been issued for a third man identified as Eduardo Lopez, 21.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said all three men are from Northridge.
Each is charged with one felony count of murder and two felony counts of attempted second-degree robbery.
“This was a ruthless and targeted attack that stole the life of a young woman and artist and inflicted profound lifelong trauma on her family and the two survivors,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement Wednesday. “My office will pursue this case aggressively to ensure those responsible are held fully accountable for this senseless and deadly violence.”
Bail for the suspects was set at over $2 million each. LiconGomez was scheduled to be arraigned later today. Gaytan is set to be arraigned on Jan. 7, 2026. Lopez will be arraigned once he is taken into custody.
If convicted as charged, all three men face life in state prison without the possibility of parole.
DELAROSA released her debut single “No Me Llames (Don’t Call Me)” in August of this year. According to her Spotify page, she had just over 4,500 monthly listeners.
“She was talented. She was a good soul. She was her, she was my daughter,” her mother Deyanira De La Rosa said in an interview with NBC4 Los Angeles.
DELAROSA’s most recent Instagram post was on Oct. 14, when she shared pictures from a gathering and said it was her birthday month.
Friends and fans filled the post with condolences Wednesday. Among the comments were, “Oh baby girl, I’m so sorry this happened to you.”
