Ice Cube faces criticism after it was revealed that he is working with President Donald Trump on his reelection.
The rapper has partnered with the campaign to discuss issues pertaining to the Black community. Katrina Pierson, a senior advisor to the Trump Administration shared the news Wednesday on Twitter.
“Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan,” she wrote with a link to the plan.

The Platinum Plan lays out Trump’s plan for the Black community and touts the reasons the administration believes the Republican president should get a second term.
Among the administration’s claims in the plan are:
-Bringing 3 million new jobs to the Black community
-Creating 500,000 new Black-owned businesses
-Increasing access to $500 billion in capital
-Advancing pathways to home ownership
-Working on an immigration policy that protects American jobs
-Addressing healthcare disparities
But many Americans weren’t sold, and they were quick to criticize Ice Cube for his willingness to help the Trump administration. Pastor and activist Talbert Swan accused the rapper of helping to “siphon Black votes” from the Democratic party.
“I am anti-Trump. I believe he’s an existential threat to the nation,” Talbert tweeted. “I’m sure he’s giving Ice Cube @icecube nothing more than lip service to siphon Black votes. But it’s not Cube’s fault Dems don’t want to talk specifics about Black people until after they get our votes.”
Ice Cube took to Twitter to say he reached out to both campaigns about his Contract With Black America, and the Trump camp responded.
“Facts: I put out the CWBA. Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA,” he tweeted.
But writer and podcaster Touré added on Twitter that Cube doesn’t represent Black America and Biden isn’t obligated to respond the rapper.
“I’m sorry but Ice Cube isn’t the leader of Black America. He ain’t the head of the CBC or the NAACP or BLM or even NWA. Biden doesn’t have to discuss Cube’s particular Black rights ideas. Biden must address Black people’s political needs but he doesn’t have to do that via Cube.”
Ice Cube has said his Contract With Black America addresses the root causes of racism in the U.S., while laying out a plan for better schooling, health care, and police reform… it’s unclear how he plans to put that plan into action.
