Iyanla Vanzant lost patience with troubled gospel singer Le’Andria Johnson in a preview of Iyanla: Fix My Life.
The television host and life coach sat down with Johnson for a two-part episode of the OWN self-help series titled “The Bad Girl of Gospel.”
Things got uncomfortable as soon as the 30 second clip started, with Vanzant asking Johnson: “Are you an alcoholic?” to which the singer replied “no.”
Vanzant wasn’t buying the singer and pastor’s excuses and fired back, “So why do you have that on your ankle?” referring to the ankle monitoring device on the gospel star’s leg.
Johnson appeared embarrassed.
Later in the video, Johnson said, “I’m not going to stop drinking. I’m functioning.”
Vanzant responded, “Spoken like a true alcoholic,” prompting the singer to roll her eyes.
Johnson was then shown outside, apparently walking away from the intervention and said, “I just want to go.”
The clip cut to Vanzant, who yelled from a distance: “Be not on your own understanding!”
A despondent Johnson said through tears, “I don’t know what to understand.”
Vanzant walked up to the singer and said, “You’re trying to figure it out with the very stuff you’re rebelling against. Stay or go!” As the life coach turned to walk away, the video ended.
Johnson previously admitted having a drinking problem and said she was pulled over by a police officer after leaving a bar.
In a live Instagram video posted last month, she told her followers she was on her way to rehab when she was stopped.
The singer’s interview with Vanzant was recorded before she entered a treatment facility. The episodes will air on OWN, on Saturday, March 16 (9 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET/PT) and Saturday, March 23 (9 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET/PT).
