Viewers are conflicted about Wendy Williams’ use of the N-word on The Wendy Williams Show.

The debate kicked off Monday after Williams accidentally said “n—as” when discussing rapper YBN Almighty Jay, who was recently assaulted outside a Saks Fifth Avenue store in Manhattan.

As the television host recounted details of the story, she joked:  “I just love Fifth Avenue shopping. It’s unbelievable, you n—as,” which prompted awkward laughter from some members of the audience and silence from others.

Once the 54-year-old host realized her mistake, she explained that she feels at ease with her audience. “I get very comfortable talking to you,” she reasoned.

Someone else chimed in: “Disgusting.”

Another person said: “Lmfaooo can y’all hear me screaming?? Skdbdjd.”

Another fan added: “Ms. Wendy @WendyWilliams just dropped the ‘n word” on national tv, and I love it, lol.”

Williams returned to her show on March 4 following a two-month hiatus to address her health issues. While she was away, the show featured guest hosts, including Jerry O’Connell, Sherri Shepherd and Nick Cannon.
