In yet another social media meltdown, President Donald Trump railed against four Democratic Congresswomen of color Sunday on Twitter, telling the U.S. citizens to go back to their “crime infested” countries.
The comments appeared to target representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley, who have repeatedly criticized the Trump administration’s immigration policies and border detentions.

Ignoring the fact that three of the women were born in the U.S., Trump said they “originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe.”
He went on to tell the Congresswomen to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

Ocasio-Cortez was born in New York. Pressley of Massachusetts was born in Ohio, and Tlaib of Michigan is originally from Detroit. Only Minnesota’s Omar is foreign-born. She was born in Somalia, is a U.S. citizen and represents Minneapolis.
Trump’s tweets drew sharp criticism from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco), who said the president wants to make “America white again.”
“When Donald Trump tells four American Congresswomen to go back to their countries, he reaffirms his plan to ‘Make America Great Again’ has always been about making America white again,” she tweeted. “Our diversity is our strength and our unity is our power.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded to Trump’s comments with a tweet saying, “Mr. President, the country I ‘come from,’ & the country we all swear to, is the United States.”
Mr. President, the country I “come from,” & the country we all swear to, is the United States.
But given how you’ve destroyed our border with inhumane camps, all at a benefit to you & the corps who profit off them, you are absolutely right about the corruption laid at your feet. https://t.co/HLKQCotR8T

Tlaib called Trump’s presidency a “failure.”
“Want a response to a lawless & complete failure of a President? He is the crisis. His dangerous ideology is the crisis. He needs to be impeached.”
