No one was safe from Trevor Noah’s roasting on Tuesday night’s special live Daily Show post-Democratic debate coverage. But the comedian seemed to pile on former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg the most, with Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar at a distant second and third.
“It was a little crazy… Yeah it was wild,” Noah joked about the political slugfest hosted by CBS. “I haven’t seen white people go at each other that hard since khakis were on sale at Banana Republic.”
The Daily Show With Trevor Noah episode, which covered tonight’s South Carolina primary debate, is the latest in the Comedy Central show’s live “Votegasm 2020” coverage.
Here are some of Noah’s zingers from tonight’s post-debate monologue.

On Bloomberg’s fumble during a discussion about race
The ex-mayor remarked, “I know that if I was black, the success I have had would have been much harder to achieve.”
Noah mocked the comment by bringing up Bloomberg’s controversial stop-and-frisk program. “Yes that’s right, that’s right. If I was Black, I wouldn’t have gotten as far because my police would’ve slammed me against the wall and frisked me,” Noah said.
On Warren’s attacks on Bloomberg
Noah noted that Sen. Elizabeth Warren was relentless with Bloomberg, saying she “destroyed” him last week during his debate debut and went after him again tonight for bankrolling Republican campaigns.
Noah joked that even after tonight’s debate, “I bet she just pops up in the backseat of his car like, ‘Oh and another thing.’”
On Buttigieg’s shameless plugs to donate to his “Pete for America” campaign
“See folks that’s what happens when you let a teenager join the debate,” Noah quipped. “They stop talking about policy and they start asking you to raise their allowance. And then after that, he asked Gayle King to give him a ride home like, “Please my dad canceled my Uber account.’”
