Tami Roman is about to make the leap from reality TV to drama series.
The Basketball Wives star has been cast in Are You Sleeping, a new Apple series from Reese Witherspoon’s production company, an individual with knowledge of the production confirmed to Urban Hollywood 411.
Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will lead the cast as Poppy Parnell, a reporter trying to uncover the truth through her new podcast about a murder case verdict that left many unanswered questions. The thriller is based on a true-crime novel by the same name from suspense author, Kathleen Barber.

Roman has been cast to play Spencer’s stepmother.
Mekhi Phifer, Annabella Sciorra, Aaron Paul, Nic Bishop, Molly Hagan, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood and Ron Cephas Jones are set to co-star.
Landing a role on Are You Sleeping is a huge deal for Roman, who had her first brush with stardom in 1993 on MTV’s The Real World: Los Angeles.
Are You Sleeping does not yet have a premiere date.
