Amazon’s Alexa is going Hollywood.
The company announced Wednesday it signed Samuel L. Jackson as the virtual assistant’s first celebrity voice.
For an introductory price of 99 cents, you can hear the acting legend give you a weather report, read the news, play your favorite music, help you set a timer, or tell a joke.
Some of the other things you can ask:
“Alexa, ask Samuel L. Jackson where he is from.”
“Alexa, ask Sam to wake me up at 7am.”
“Alexa, ask Sam Jackson to sing happy birthday.”

To get started, just say: “Alexa, introduce me to Samuel L. Jackson.” Then, choose whether you want Jackson to use explicit language or to keep it clean. If you change your mind later, simply go to the settings menu of the Alexa app to toggle between clean and explicit content, Amazon explained on its website.
Unfortunately, the site says Jackson won’t be able to help with shopping, lists, reminders, or skills.
The Jackson “voice pack” for Alexa will be available later this year — although Amazon didn’t give an exact date. The regular price will eventually climb to $4.99 once the introductory phase ends.
