Former Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr. is set to bring laughter to CNN on the upcoming comedy-news series called Have I Got News For You.
Wood will host the program, while comedians Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black will serve as team captains, CNN announced in a press release.

Ruffin and Black’s roles will be to guide guests, including “notable entertainers, political figures, and comedians” in a lineup of games and panel conversations that test their knowledge of current events.
“It is an honor to get to work with comedy favorites Michael Ian Black and Roy Wood Jr. It is our hope that this show will take people from saying, ‘This is CNN.’ to ‘THIS is CNN!?!?,’” Ruffin said about joining the 10-episode limited series.
Black, who is white, joked about getting the role because he’s a diversity, equity and inclusion hire — obviously mocking President Donald Trump and his supporters’ remarks about Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Roy Wood Jr. and Amber Ruffin as Have I Got News For You’s DEI hire,” said Black.
“I’m looking forward to spreading as much disinformation as possible on America’s most trusted news network – my main focus has been, and will continue to be, pleasing my handlers in the Kremlin,” the comedian added.

The show is a remake of the long-running BBC comedy series that was created by Jimmy Mulville in 1990.
Mulville will be serving as an executive producer, while the company he co-owns, Hat Trick Productions, will produce for CNN Originals.
Have I Got News For You will premiere on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CNN.
After the premiere, the show will air regularly on Saturdays in the same time slot and stream the next day on Max.
