Some of the biggest hip-hop acts to come out of New Jersey closed out the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards with a tribute to the Garden State.
After an introduction by Newark native Ice-T, it was time for Naughty by Nature, Redman, Fetty Wap, Wyclef Jean and Queen Latifah to take the stage.
Naughty by Nature got things started with “O.P.P.” Next up, Redman performed “Da Rockwilder.” Fetty Wap belted out “Trap Queen,” and Wyclef delivered “Gone Till November” and “No Woman, No Cry.”

Queen Latifah made a grand entrance on a motorcycle, donned a white coat, and fired off her throwback anthem “U.N.I.T.Y.” Just before the credits rolled, Naughty by Nature ended the performance — and got everyone dancing — with “Hip Hop Hooray.”
This was the first time in 36 years the VMAs have been held in New Jersey.
