Prince’s long-awaited memoir will released in the fall.

The music legend was in the process of writing the manuscript before he died on April 21, 2016.

“The Beautiful Ones” is now available for preorder and will be released in October, Random House announced on its website.

The first-person account will explain how Minnesota native Prince Rogers Nelson became music icon Prince. It will include never-before-seen photos, scrapbooks and lyric sheets.

In an Instagram post Monday, Random House described the book as “deeply personal.”

The post goes on to say it will offer a “real-time story of a kid absorbing the world around him and creating a persona, an artistic vision, and a life, before the hits and the fame that would come to define him.”

The book will open with an introduction from editor Dan Piepenbring, who was collaborating with Prince before he passed away.

“The Beautiful Ones” arrives in stores and online on Oct. 29.
