Britain will soon welcome a new royal addition.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are expecting their first child, Kensington Palace announced Monday.

In a statement posted on social media, the palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.”

The couple told Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the royal family they were expecting at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding on Friday, according to The Guardian.

The former Suits actress has passed the 12-week mark and is due in late April, the publication reported. The new arrival will be seventh in line to the throne.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, shared her excitement in a statement released by Kensington Palace.

“Ms. Ragland is very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild,” the statement read.

The pregnancy announcement comes five months after Meghan and Harry were married at Windsor Castle on May 19.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently in Australia on a royal tour.
