Beyoncé is coming to Netflix.
The streamer released the first trailer Monday morning for the documentary Homecoming about the singer’s groundbreaking performance at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Netflix described the film as “an in-depth look at Beyoncé’s celebrated 2018 Coachella performance from creative concept to cultural movement.”
The video features behind-the-scenes footage as Beyoncé, her team and the singer’s daughter, Blue Ivy, as Queen Bey prepares for the performance. The clip is accompanied by an interview with the late Maya Angelou about representation and giving back.
“What I really wanted to do, was be a representative of my race, of the human race,” Angelou says. “I have a chance to show how kind we can be, how intelligent and generous we can be. I have a chance to teach and to love and to laugh. I know that when I finish doing what I’m sent here to do, I will be called home, and I will go home without any fear — trepidations wondering what’s going to happen.”
The poet and activist adds the advice, “Tell the truth.”

Hours before releasing the trailer, Netflix teased fans by tweeting an image with the word “Homecoming” featuring Greek letters, along with the date April 17. The documentary’s premiere date falls between the weekends of this year’s Coachella festival, which runs April 12-14 and April 19-21.
Beyoncé made history at Coachella last year as the first woman of color to headline the annual Southern California festival.
In addition to the performance, which was an homage to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), she launched a scholarship fund called the “Homecoming Scholars Award Program,” benefiting students at HBCUs.
