The first look at Michelle Williams as Diana Ross has arrived.
Weeks after Williams joined BET’s American Soul series, People released photos of the actress channeling the Ain’t No Mountain High Enough performer.
In the preview, the Destiny’s Child alum dons a sparkly red dress as she dances with actor Sinqua Walls, who plays Soul Train creator Don Cornelius in the drama.
Williams will portray a ’70s era Ross as she debates whether or not to star on Cornelius’ music-dance show Soul Train.

American Soul — which centers around Cornelius’ life and career — features an impressive cast.
Actress Gabrielle Dennis will play Tina Turner, singer and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta alum K. Michelle has signed on to portray Martha Reeves, and Bobby Brown will guest star as Do the Funky Chicken singer Rufus Thomas, to name a few stars.
Williams’ close friend and former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, will play Gladys Knight.
“Playing Gladys on this series, one, is an honor because she has been in the game for so long,” Rowland said in a video shared to BET’s website.
She added: “She still has so much grace, so much class, so much love for music. She still sings like she just started yesterday … she was the first artist to perform on Soul Train.”
American Soul will debut with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on BET.
