Michael Strahan just scored another win. The former NFL player has been tapped to co-host the upcoming third hour of ABC’s Good Morning America, according to published reports.
Strahan will anchor alongside Sara Haines, who is leaving The View to join the program. Earlier this year, the two co-hosted ABC’s pre-Oscars red carpet coverage.
News of Haines’ departure from The View comes just days after Paula Faris announced she plans to leave the ABC daytime talker and weekend GMA in August. She’ll report for ABC News, and launch a podcast focusing on faith.
On July 18, Faris took to Twitter to say she was thankful for the new opportunity. The mom-of-three added that she “won’t miss that 3am wake up on weekends!”

ABC announced it planned to expand GMA in May, saying the third hour of its signature morning program would replace food-themed talk show The Chew.
Strahan previously co-hosted Live! With Kelly and Michael from 2012 until 2016, before moving full-time to GMA.
The new hour of GMA will debut in September.
