Chaos erupted at a Lil Wayne concert Sunday in Atlanta after an “altercation” sent concertgoers running for cover.
The chart-topping rapper was performing as part of the A3C Hip-Hop Festival when attendees began to flee amid fears of gunfire.
After launching an investigation, the Atlanta Police Department told WXIA-TV it didn’t appear any shots were fired.
“It appears that someone in the crowd at the event located in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. and Central Ave. yelled that they heard gunshots,” police said in a statement to the media. “This caused people at the event to attempt to flee the location.”

Social media posts from the festival showed the pandemonium as concertgoers rushed to escape the area.
Lil Wayne recently released his 12th studio album Tha Carter V, and was scheduled as the final performer on Sunday night.
The festival released a statement saying an “altercation” ended Lil Wayne’s performance.
