Former ESPN journalist Jemele Hill is set to narrate the upcoming LeBron James documentary series, Shut Up and Dribble.
Hill confirmed she’s teaming up with James in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“Lately LeBron has talked about gender and wanting to uplift and position black women in particular. I get the sense that this is all part of that,” she said. “If you look at the societal ladder, black women remain on the lowest rung. He clearly understands that we are facing a unique battle. It means a lot that he understands the intricacies of that.”

The voice-over assignment is Hill’s first job since she left ESPN earlier this month.
On Sept. 14, she took to Twitter to let fans know it was her last day with the sports network after 12 years.
“The time has come for me to begin a new chapter in my life,” she tweeted.
Over the last several weeks, there have been a lot of rumors about my job status. Today is my last day at ESPN.

Over the years, Hill worked as a columnist at ESPN and hosted several programs including Outside the Lines and SportsCenter with Michael Smith.
She left her role as co-anchor of SportsCenter in January after making national headlines for calling President Trump a “white supremacist” on Twitter. Her most recent position with the company was as senior correspondent and columnist for The Undefeated, ESPN’s online vertical focused on race, sports, and culture.
Her new project, Shut Up and Dribble, will focus on the evolving role NBA stars play in the current political and cultural climates.
The title of the three-part docuseries is inspired by a comment from Fox News pundit Laura Ingraham.

Back in February, The Ingraham Angle host said James and Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant
should “shut up and dribble,” and not comment on politics after the two criticized President Trump.
The docuseries is produced by James and his business partner, Maverick Carter, under their SpringHill Entertainment company.
Shut Up and Dribble will debut in November on Showtime.
