With Henry Cavill’s days as Superman apparently over, rumors are flying over who will take his place and Michael B. Jordan is reportedly at the top of the list.

Warner Bros. has no plans to make another Superman movie starring Cavill, sources told The Hollywood Reporter in a story published Wednesday.

The British actor’s time in the DC Universe is said to be ending after talks for him to make a Superman cameo in Shazam! broke down because of scheduling conflicts.

Cavill appears alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and will next star in Netflix action series, The Witcher.

If the reports are true, Cavill’s exit from the franchise would open the door for a new Superman, and Black Panther actor Jordan seems to be a strong contender.

“The word has been out that Warner Bros. has been mulling a completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time, even considering casting Michael B. Jordan in the role down the road,” Deadline reported Wednesday.

Warner Bros. released a statement to address all the rumors, but didn’t exactly say if Cavill is out, or if Jordan is in.

“We have a great relationship and great respect for Henry Cavill that continues to remain unchanged,” the statement said. “Additionally we have made no current decisions regarding any upcoming Superman films.”
